Arts Partner Since 2008. In-School Dance Residency Program.Serving 1st – 4th Grades. Funding for Notes in Motion’s ongoing arts partnership with PS 78 Bronx has been provided by the Bronx Council on the Arts, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, New York State Council for the Arts, and City Council Member Andy King.

School Population Demographics:
PreK-5, 796  students; 71% Black, 22% Hispanic, 2% Asian, 5% White, 1% Native American ;6% ELL; 85% economically disadvantaged; 18% special education

Dance to Remember (Fall 2018-Spring 2019) 2nd Grade  (6-classes; 20-sessions) Teaching Artists: Sarah Landolfini, Luiza Karnas

During this residency, students learned to use their own bodies as a form of expression, chronicle the history of dance, and compare the dance they have personal knowledge/experience of with dances they have never seen/experienced. World dance styles explored included: West African Dance, Bhangra (India), Celebratory Dances from Europe, Celtic Dance, and Grito (Mexic0)
