Sofia Engelman, teaching artist

Sofia Engelman is a dance educator, maker, performer, writer, and administrator originally from Cambridge, MA (ancestral land of the Massachusett people). Sofia has presented choreographic works at FRESH Festival, EstroGenius Festival, Judson Church, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Institute for Contemporary Art/Boston, Ponderosa (Germany), School for Contemporary Dance & Thought, The Dance Complex, and more. Sofia has also had the honor of performing under the direction of Kathleen Hermesdorf, Michael Figueroa, Alice Gosti, and Tyler Rai. Sofia holds a BA with highest honors in Dance from Smith College and is the Director of freeskewl and a Contributing Editor at Contact Quarterly. She is deeply invested in facilitating collaboration and connection through movement.
