Kadeem Alston-Roman, teaching artist

Kadeem Alston-Roman hails from Brooklyn, New York and graduated from LaGuardia High School. He has choreographed over 65 dance pieces in a variety of dance genres that include: modern, contemporary, K-Pop, contemporary ballet, street-jazz, Broadway jazz, tap, West African and liturgical dance.

He has showcased his work at Madison Square Garden, The Prudential Center, American College Dance Festival, Harlem Summer Stage, Lehigh University and the Harkness Dance Center. His choreography has been featured Off-Broadway in Play The Music Softly and Alive 55+ and Kickin’ in which he received an AUDELCO Award nomination for Best Choreography. His work was also seen on television in CBS’ 60 Minutes and in association with the international K-Pop convention, KCON.

He was a dance faculty member for Brooklyn Friends School and dance teaching artist with Lincoln Center, The Joyce Theater and Camille A. Brown & Dancers. He received his B.A. in Dance & Choreography from Muhlenberg College.
