Lily McAteer received her BFA (Magna Cum Laude) in Dance Performance from The Ailey School/Fordham University. Her pre-professional studies were at Charlotte Ballet under the mentorship of Patricia McBride, where she was awarded the Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux Merit Scholarship. Professionally, Lily has danced with Eglevsky Ballet, XAOC Contemporary Ballet, and Ballet Neo. Lily has choreographed a range of Equity productions including Hamlet, Carousel, and Kiss Me Kate, served as Dance Captain for the World Premiere of Sinners (directed by Emmy Award winner Brian Cox), presented choreographic work at the Queens Museum, and been a member of the Junior Division Faculty at The Ailey School and at the Mark Morris Dance Group. Lily previously served as Programs Director for The Mirror Theater in VT, overseeing and teaching in all Educational and Community Programming. In 2017, Lily joined New York City Ballet and the Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation in the role of Teaching Artist, educating dancers between the ages of 4 and 94 throughout New York and New Jersey, and presenting master classes in collaboration with NYU Langone and Memorial Sloan Kettering. Lily has worked with Notes-in-Motion since Fall of 2022.
