Alexandra Bayeva is a dancer and a teaching artist originally from Minsk, Belarus with a background in folk, ballet, jazz/modern, contact improvisation, social dance,and acro-yoga. She holds a BA in Folk Dance Teaching, Performance, and Choreography from the Belarusian University of Culture and Arts. For the past 18 years, Alexandra has been working with various organisations teaching children and adults the joy of movement. Throughout her career Alexandra taught gymnastics, folk dance, ballet, theater dance, creative movement and contact improvisation. As a performer, Alexandra has worked with several dance theater companies in Belarus and NYC: Kustov Theater, Mark Lamb, Anabela Lenzu, and Young Dancers In Repertory. In 2018 Alexandra created “Set Free” Dance Theater which helped performers of various dance backgrounds to express themselves creatively in front of the audience. Since then she has produced, choreographed, and performed in eight Set Free Dance Theater productions that explored themes of freedom, desire, loneliness, love, power, and play. Alexandra currently teaches traditional dance at public school residences with Vanaver Caravan Dance Company and ballet classes to 7-12 year olds with Young Dancers in Repertory.
