Meena Chen, teaching artist

Meena Chen is a multimedia storyteller focused on the intersection of art, activism, spirituality, and identity. Meena graduated from Swarthmore College in 2021 with a major in Environmental Studies and double minor in Religion and Dance, and has been working as a freelance performing artist and creator ever since. In Philadelphia, from 2022-2023, they danced as a company dancer and collaborator with AniMalayaworks. From 2023-2024, they worked on Natya Anubhava Theater's production of Steps Beyond Silence as a dancer, singer/songwriter, and choreographer. They currently teach dance and music in NYC public schools while working freelance as a musician, comic and visual artist, writer, and choreographer.
