Born and raised in Boston and its suburbs, CJ has a deep interest in art accessibility, devised performance, and improvisation. CJ is a performing artist, community dance teacher, writer, and arts administrator particularly interested in community theatre and dance making, performing arts for social change, and k-12 and public free arts education. CJ’s work as an artist and educator centers community and process, and is particularly interested in working with folks who do not necessarily consider themselves a 'dancer', 'performer', or 'artist’, questioning how those definitions are understood. CJ has presented choreographic work at The Dance Complex, HERE Arts Center, NACHMO Boston, The Foundry, and more. CJ holds a BA with honors in Theatre & Dance and Educational Studies from Trinity College and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching Dance, All Grades at NYU Steinhardt.
