Corinne Shearer is a dancer, choreographer, and teaching artist based in New York City. She is a graduate of The Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts and the Dance Conservatory at SUNY Purchase where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance with a Concentration in Dance Composition. Additionally, she has studied and performed at The Taipei National University of the Arts and The School of Contemporary Dance at Jacob's Pillow. Aside from working as a freelance dancer, Corinne was featured as an artist-in-residence at The Triple Nine Festival, named “Director’s Choice” for her choreography in Spoke The Hub’s Winter Follies, and commissioned to create new work by Dixon Place, One Day Dance, and musical artist Nadia Vaeh. Corinne currently teaches dance and theater with Notes in Motion as well as at the Westside Y. Outside of the dance field, Corinne is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in English Literature at The City College of New York and recently joined the editorial team at the online magazine, OyeDrum.
