Em Papineau, teaching artist

Em Papineau is a dance artist who lives and works in Lenapehoking/Brooklyn, NY. Em's solo work has been presented at Queerly Contemporary Festival, as well as Smith College. Em has an ongoing collaborative practice with their partner Sofia Engelman. Together, they have held choreographic residencies at The Living Room, Ponderosa (Germany), the Dance Complex, School for Contemporary Dance and Thought, and MOtiVE Brooklyn. In addition to presenting their work in these spaces, the pair have presented their work at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, FRESH Festival, EstroGenius Festival, AS220's Providence Movement Festival, Dancing Queerly Boston, Judson Church, Green Street Studios, and Smith College. Em graduated with a BA in Dance and Religion from Smith College and is Co-Initiator/Production Manager of freeskewl.
