Julia Lie, teaching artist

Julia Lie grew up in the Pacific Northwest; she enjoyed dancing in her grandmother’s living room and began taking classes at the age of three after seeing The Nutcracker. Julia continued her dance education in New York and graduated summa cum laude from the Ailey/Fordham BFA program in 2024 with a BFA in Dance and Visual Arts. Ms. Lie dances with Company of Collaborative Artists and was with BH2 (Ballet Hispánico’s second company) for two seasons. She has a teacher certification in the Ailey Horton Technique and recently co-choreographed the Youth Summer Musical at Chandler Center for the Arts in Randolph, VT. Julia values the power that dance holds to connect with diverse communities, share stories, and inspire, and she enjoys sharing these values with kids!
