Kayla Spalding, teaching artist

Born and raised in North Carolina, Kayla graduated with honors with a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography, along with her BA in History from Elon University. During her collegiate career and since graduation, Kayla has received the opportunity to teach a wide variety of students from Pre-K - Adult classes. Kayla has worked with numerous companies and choreographers, performing in works for the Richmond Dance Festival, American Dance Festival, and Florence Dance Festival. Most Recently, she had the opportunity to premiere her own solo work titled, "Hike: A Shadow of Repudiation" for the MODArts Move to Change Dance Festival. She holds the strong belief that dance is one of the most powerful ways to connect in our shared human experience, and finds joy in sharing that connection with her students.
