Olivia (Olive) Kick-Nalepa, teaching artist

Olive Kick is an interdisciplinary movement artist based in Brooklyn, New York. Olive uses somatics, improvisation, and choreography to explore relations between and within bodies as resistance against extractive systems. Olive recently graduated from NYU Gallatin, where she studied the imperial imposition of hierarchies of beings and bodies, and researched somatics as decolonial praxis. Olive was a 2026 Artist Intern at Bearnstow and is currently teaching students Creative Movement in New York City Public Schools with Notes in Motion. In each facet of Olive's creative, academic, and professional life, they explore how movement can foster radical empathy and care, and assist in the imagination of better worlds.
