Katherine Shamdin, teaching artist

Katherine Shamdin, originally from Mattoon, Illinois, graduated in 2023 from the University of Iowa with a BFA in Dance and a BA in Enterprise Leadership. There she was a member of the UI Dance Company and she performed in works by Stephanie Miracle, Tony Orrico, Armando Duarte, Kristin Marrs and guest choreographers Thomas DeFrantz and Shannon Alvis. Katherine has performed with Tabula Rasa Dance Theater and is a current member of Mosaic Dance Theater Company and Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company. Aside from performing, Katherine enjoys teaching at BalletTech as part of their Ballet Tech Across New York Program and the Mark Morris Dance School where she gets to share her passion with young artists.
